C.K. Chang is an enthusiastic nature lover, fascinated and awed by nature's beauty everywhere, any time of day and in all four seasons. Inspiration for his work comes from the beauty of crowning mountains, treasured national parks, the vast oceans and seas with constant moving waves, peaceful walks along lakeshores, flowers, water lilies, trees in autumn, trail paths through woods and even his backyard. The artist tries to create the mood of the setting so that viewers can share nature's delights at that particular moment and place.
The Art of Note logo is a picture, Art and Music I , that
Chang painted specifically for this fundraiser.
Chang painted the cello specifically for the Art of Note Auction to help
to raise money for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras. This cello celebrates
the
melding of music and the visual
arts.
On the side, is a poem written in Chinese Calligraphy:
Clouds over water
Lit by sun's golden
eye
Scarlet-streaked ocher
Art of Madison Sky!
Over seas of grass
Waves of music sing
Flute, harp, cello
Wisconsin soul to
bring!
