Kathy Armstrong discovered her preferred medium, transparent watercolor,
in the early 1990's. Her paintings from the Farmer’s Market and of
the Madison area have been seen in Dane County Cultural Affairs calendars
and also shown at the Grace Chosy Gallery on Monroe Street, as well as other
galleries in the state. Kathy lives in Madison with her husband, Jim,
their two teenagers and one large sheepdog.

“Visual art and music are both are about creativity and expression so it was a real joy to be part of this event. Listening to music often brings images to mind. And listening to music while creating visual art definitely has an effect on the mood and the tone of the art. I chose to paint my violin, ‘The Sky’s the Limit,’ using the images and colors of sky scenes, and also to reflect the potential of all of the talented WYSO artists. I loved stepping outside of my usual art zone, working 3-D and using a different medium for this violin art.” - Kathy Armstrong
